As you might know, @Stilgherrian is off to Africa for Project TOTO, & there is a faint possibility that he might not come back.  Thus it seems like a good idea to have a farewell gathering of his Twitter & other buddies (just in case).

@mpesce invites you all to the rooftop of The Hart, 47 Cooper Street, in Surry Hills, on ANZAC Day (25th April 2009 for those who don’t know ;p) from 1:30 to 5 PM, for a BYO @STUB. There’s a pool, and if it’s heated (33% chance) or not too cold (50% chance), bring some togs for a quick dip, if that’s your sort of thing. There’s also a rooftop barbie, which if it’s working (75% chance) means we can have some snags or lamb chops or whatever - if you bring them along.

@mpesce will provide ice and a tub for beers, a few non-alcoholic comestibles, and some tongs for the barbie. The rest is up to you, lovely STUBers. DM @mpesce if you like, and let him know to expect you.

First Night (well First Afternoon and First Night)
The Sydney Festival’s First Night is on this Saturday 10 January. See details here http://www.sydneyfestival.org.au/2009/Festival_First_Night. We are planning a STUB event to go along and have a look. A few STUBber’s went last year and had a great time.

For those with little ones, come along for the afternoon entertainment then you can head home or move along to the main stage in the Domain for the evening entertainment.

Meet somewhere near the Palm Stage from 2pm with the kiddies or somewhere in the Domain from 7pm to see The Cat Empire and Grace Jones et al. See the Palm Stage entertainment page and the Domain Stage page.

As per usual with festivals it’s very hard to work out exact times and locations so details will be tweeted, so have your mobile device juiced up and handy to find the others.
